What these technologies do
Cookies are small values a website can ask a browser to store and return with later requests. Local storage is a separate browser feature that can retain information for a site without sending it automatically with every request. Neither is required for the reading guides or the contact ledger supplied with this website.
The reference site's code
The editorial pages and their script do not set cookies, use local storage, run analytics or load advertising trackers. Mobile navigation and scroll reveals use temporary page state. That state is not retained as a profile when the page closes.
The contact ledger holds your draft in the current page only. Copy enquiry uses the Clipboard API when you request it and your browser permits it. Download .txt generates a local file. Neither action sends the draft to us. Browser autofill and device clipboard history are controlled by your browser or operating system, not this page.
Hosting and deployment controls
Hosting infrastructure or a separately provided privacy-preference control may have its own essential storage. If a preference control is displayed, use it to accept or decline optional storage and consult its displayed information for the relevant category and duration. Declining optional storage must not prevent access to the reference guides. This notice does not treat a preference choice as consent to unrelated future tracking.

Managing browser data
